Background
Altons
Dive Shop (diveinutila.com) is a unique dive center on the Island of Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras. Utila and the rest of the coastline in
Honduras border on the 2nd largest reef in the World - second only to the Great Barrier Reef in Hong Kong. Only Utila there are about 12
dive shops, there are about 10 more on a nearby Island and many, many more scattered through the Caribbean. So, you can imagine, the
competition is fierce.
The Problem
Altons Dive Shop currently hold
a good market share in Utila but want to improve their holding further. Altons Dive Shop approached Aim seeking a partner to work with
them to both develop a professionally designed website and gain more market share through Search Engine
optimization.
The Solution
Aim consultated with Altons Dive Shop to design and
develop a Joomla content management system with a custom frontpage design and Virtuemart shopping cart system. As part of the Advance
range of website solutions this system gives Altons the ability to add, edit and delete all content, images and text on the website.
Aim also installed Virtuemart, a fully evolved "open source" shopping cart component that now gives Altons the ability to market
and sell their special and unique diving packages on their website.
The
Outcome
As the direct result of the solution developed by Aim Internet, Altons Dive Shop has now launched a
complete shopping cart and booking system with a PayPal gateway system integrated for payments. Aim is very proud of this website and
believes Altons to have over 200 pages indexed with Google, 200 with Yahoo and 150 with MSN. We believe that Altons is now one of the
leading dive shops in the World, with the second highest amount of PADI diver certifications in the America's.
